YBYC has a great selection of boats available for club member use, including:
- 6 Vanguard Club 420s (must have taken class and be checked out)
- 14-foot Aluminum skiff with 9.8 hp motor
- 4 Crab rings and 2 crab pots to accessorize the above boat
- Catalina 22 (must have taken class and be checked out)
YBYC offers a very nice Catalina Capri 22, S/V Fulmar, which members can charter for sailing in Yaquina Bay. This is a comfortable and easy to sail vessel moored at Embarcadero Marina, conveniently close to our clubhouse. Members with sailing experience can be checked out on the vessel in order to qualify as skipper. The check out usually takes about 2 hours for most sailors. For some, a second session on the boat may be required to qualify. Not a sailor yet? We offer adult small boat sailing instruction each summer. Follow the newsletter for announcement of dates.
Because boat maintenance and moorage are expensive, this is a fee-based program. The fee for a check-out session is $25. A half-day charter is $60. For those who would like to participate in Wednesday evening races but don’t have a boat, our Capri 22 is ready for you.
To schedule a check-out or charter the boat, contact the fleet chair: fleet@yaquinabayyachtclub.org
Please complete a Boat Use Waiver before using a boat from the club's fleet.
To operate any of the YBYC powerboats, particularly when signing up for Chase Boat duties, the Safety/Chase Powerboat Use Skills Evaluation and Agreement must be signed off by an instructor.
