Welcome to Yaquina Bay Yacht Club

Yaquina Bay Yacht Club (YBYC) is Newport's oldest yacht club. YBYC was established in October of 1947, at the request of the Newport Chamber of Commerce. The Club's main focus then - and still today - is the promotion of recreational boating in the Newport area.

In November of 2004 we dedicated our Clubhouse, built by volunteers and serving as a meeting place for our expanding membership. The Clubhouse is located on the Bayfront, and has a beautiful view of the waterfront and the Yaquina Bay Bridge. The Clubhouse is available to rent for your meetings and special events. We are dedicated to fun, education, safety and good sportsmanship in boating. We offer many social activities for the enjoyment of our members. Please consider joining.

2013 Lighted Boat Parade, Dec. 7th

Newport's much anticipated 2013 Lighted Boat Parade is happening Dec. 7th, 5:00p - 6:30p. Hosted by the Yaquina Bay Yacht Club for the 20th year, this annual nighttime boat parade is a non-profit event with proceeds going to a charitable organization.

This year's theme is "Magic of the Music". Donations will go to support CAN Cancer. The bulk of donations are generated through passenger ticket sales on board the Discovery. Tickets for seats aboard Discovery can be purchased through Marine Discovery Tours. If you know someone who'd like to enjoy this family friendly show from a perch aboard a comfortable charter vessel, please refer them to Marine Discovery Tours. Call 541-265-6200 for ticket and reservation information.

The in-kind contributions are used as thank you gifts and prizes to the participating boaters to show the appreciation for their hard work to create this spectacular light show. We depend on the generosity of our good neighbor businesses and individuals to complete this circle; if you own or know a business who would like to support this event, this is a great opportunity to help out.

Complete information and 2013 Boater's Registration can be found here.

See you all on the water!

For more than 40 years, the Yaquina Bay Yacht Club has hosted The Columbus Day Regatta, a series of sailboat races on Yaquina Bay. Up to 30 boats, ranging from 12 to 40 feet, come from all over Oregon to compete. This year marks our first year's partnership with the Pacific Communities Health District (PCHD) Foundation to benefit the Samaritan Pacific Hospice.
